Technology: Our Crutch
WOAH! That was a cool storm we (PA) had recently. I have never seen so many trees fall like that. They were like dominoes, destined to fall. Power had been cut off everywhere as the police frantically rush to every street corner and intersection to place stop signs at every non-working street light.

The storm was fun, and I didn’t mind the no power for a day. I cleverly sat down by a window where I got a lot of natural light and played Gameboy practically all day. There was also the rare occurence in which I’d play something with my brother besides video games. My mom actually read a book, and my dad was out of the basement! A lack of power is really a blessing I think.

It’s sad but a lot of families are torn apart by technology. As communication media grows and expands, less legitimate communication actually occurs. People are practically texting (text messaging) each other while in the same room. In fact I’ve done that… heheh…he… (HYPOCRITE!)
TV’s are now broadcasting thousands of channels; TV’s are going 3D; more lifelike video games are being developed, requiring more and more attention and time consumption to play them (and be good at them.)
Not to mention electricity, lights, ovens, air conditioning, etc. Technology is a blessing and a curse. I believe it’s pulling us away from each other, and ensuring our demise in those rare circumstances when it fails to work properly.

I’m not saying tech is bad, far from it in fact. But we are way over-dependent on it. My mom was freaking out when she couldn’t watch her favorite shows. Hello, we’re all people here, let’s play a card game or something! (I really can’t talk, look at me, on my Gameboy… pffft)
Everything is quiet until the power goes out and the men come out from hiding (being on the computer) and want to play.

I really see no end to this. We’ll just keep becoming more dependent, as personal relationships and face-to-face talking goes out of existence…
You know it’s 2010 when you get on a school bus to find that everyone has an earphone stuck in the heads blasting music as they look out the window, barely acknowledging the existence of others.

I just don’t know what to think or say on this topic further. Technology is a good necessity and luxury. We are becoming/ are already overdependent on it. As social media technology advances the values of actually talking to one another face-to-face seems to be deteriorating faster than the inside of an apple turns brown.
It’s really fascinating, but really sad at the same time. I have hundreds of friends online to talk to and nothing to fill this empty void in my heart- oh wait ,i got a text message…
-fin-

Ah, yeah, technology- you already saw my rant on your other post >>;
Meh. Without it, where would we be?
Is it annoying you too that EVERY MOVIE IS NOW IN 3D? Freaking geez.
It’s not so much the computer that people are attached to, but the internet. The connection of vast databases everywhere exchanging files for others to use. The internet is extremely unstable (though not as unstable as people :3). People like to hide behind the internet often times. And blah.
I dunno, it’s 3am. IGNORE ME
I refuse to ignore you because your ramblings and talking of self, etc. is really amusing
I know, 3D-ness is taking over the world!
This was bound to happen… I wonder if the movies are good at least… The whole 3D thing should be used in epic/action movies mainly…
Idk… Watching a comedy in 3D is like seeing a super-buff, genetically jacked, physically stacked kitten… What’s the point? XD
